Fall has Arrived

'Huron Sunrise' in Kelly's garden.  (PS:  I still have dahlias blooming!)

Dahlia 'Preference'

We needed rain and we definitely got it today.  We didn't need the wind that came with it though.  Orchid Beauty is lying on the ground and I lost most of my newly blooming glads.  Ugh!  I should have re-staked the dahlia after Earl.

Huron Sunrise

This grass in Kelly's garden was all tipped over after the storm, despite being in a big hoop.  Didn't matter how much adjusting we did, it kept wanting to flop over.  Kelly used the leaf blower to blow it back into shape!

Last of the Phlox

Becky Towe hasn't grown a whole lot in 2 years so she will move to a sunnier spot in the fall.  Her gold and green foliage is definitely her redeeming feature.  Flowers are similar to Orange Perfection.

Red Hot

Not very red or very hot but it sure is pretty.

The first of the globe flowers bloomed today... way over my head so I had to zoom to get a shot.

Nicky phlox turned out to be Orange Perfection, which isn't really orange.

Kelly's Day

Today I went out for coffee, got my nails done and my hair cut.  This is what Kelly did today.

Agapanthus has Buds!

After miraculously returning for 5 years without a bloom, we have 2 buds on our zone 7 agapanthus.

Pink Clematis

Unknown - I have 2 plants that I think are the same.  Here is the other one.  The number of petals seems to vary.

Blooming Weigela

We got this unknown weigela when the neighbours across the street asked Kelly to dig up some shrubs a couple of years ago.  Since they were throwing them away, we adopted them.  This is at the very back of the backyard.  There are layers and layers of blooms!

Planted some annuals, including cyperus 'King Tut' behind the big rock in back.  Kelly moved the Japanese garden juniper to the back turret (along the fence near the deck).
